Corria el inicio de la decada de los 90, cuando llego la explosión del llamado ''indie-rock'' a España. Entre muchas buenas bandas (Penelope Trip, Manta Ray, El niño Gusano...), me sorprendieron mucho El Inquilino Comunista.

Sus influencias estaban más centradas en el mercado anglosajon y americano que en el español, de hecho sus influencias básicas son Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Junior o los Pixies, cantan en inglés y su discografia és muy corta.
Sólo tienen tres larga duración (El Inquilino Comunista 1993, Bluff 1995, Discasto 1996) cuatro cd maxi entre los años 92 al 95, y un recopilatorio con todas sus grabaciones (Dogbox 2005).
Es el grupo que a mi parecer más se puede llamar independiente por estos lares, ya que incluso llegaron a rechazar un contrato discográfico con la muntinacional RCA.
Cómo curiosidad, el nombre lo sacaron a la denominación que hacia una amiga suya a su menstruación.
Son originarios de Getxo (Vizcaya) y su formación és:

-Santi Real-guitarra y voz
-Javier Letamendia-bateria
-Juan Losada-bajo
Actualmente están inactivos, pero no disueltos.
